A brand new pre-comping experience.

Description

Pre-composing has been an essential part of After Effects forever, but it hasn't really been updated since the beginning. You guessed it, we've given it a complete overhaul with auto-cropping, padding and a whole bunch of new stuff to boot.

Pre-compose Pro is a plugin so it appears in the Layer menu, right below the old Pre-compose button. You'll never need to use the old and outdated Pre-compose ever again.

What makes it Pro?

Our Pro range reimagines many of the After Effects built-in tools we all know and love. Whether we’ve added missing features, fixed long-standing bugs or simply made something easier to use, each one is intentionally designed to be a complete replacement for their namesake, and to look and feel as native as possible.

01 Pre-compose layers separately

Simply select multiple layers and pre-compose them into their own comps. Simple, but crazy useful.

02 Crop new comp to content & add padding

Auto crop the new composition to its contents. For static content, just choose the current frame. For animated layers, it crops to the entire duration. Also you add custom top, right, bottom and left padding separately, in pixels.

03 Native menu item

Pre-compose Pro appears in the Layer menu, right alongside the native Pre-compose, making it super easy to switch.

04 Auto-naming

Auto-name your new composition with useful placeholders which insert the parent comp or layer name in the title. Also, add custom prefixes and suffixes.

05 Include shape layer extents

Include shape layers strokes and other effects like Pucker & Bloat, Offset Paths and Zig-Zag in the auto-crop. This is experimental and may not work in all circumstances.

06 Keyboard shortcuts

Keep you muscle memory intact and assign the usual keyboard shortcut Shift+Cmd/Ctrl+C to Pre-compose Pro in one click.
